At SimScale, we believe it is important to put on the table topics that, while not directly related to our operations, are part of relevant aspects of everyday life, not only in the present but also in the future.

In particular, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) work requires, as an essential measure, the ability to provide access to information, align with the best practices developed worldwide, and open the debate to seek solutions to current and future problems.

In this spirit, every year we select a highly relevant ESG topic and use it as a starting point for open conversations across our usual communication channels.

This year, we internally defined May as Circular Economy Month. This decision coincides with the fact that a significant number of global events on this topic took place precisely in this month.

Through our Circular Economy Month, we set out to achieve three concrete objectives:

Consolidating and sharing relevant information

Each week, we published and shared with all team members articles covering topics ranging from global circular economy goals and models, case studies, and references to local initiatives, to key national legislations and the latest circularity statistics.

Promoting circularity

We opened internal channels for the private sale/exchange of items so that team members could give a second life to objects they no longer use. At the same time, we continued promoting recycling measures and are currently organizing our second e-waste recycling event.

Learning from best practices

For the ESG team leading this project, this initiative was a valuable opportunity to become familiar with the best circularity practices implemented by other companies, which will begin to form part of our own package of future initiatives.

The Future of ESG at SimScale

Circular Economy Month may be over, but our commitment continues. The insights gained this May will serve as the foundation for future ESG initiatives, ensuring that circularity remains embedded in the way we work.

At SimScale, we often talk about our mission to make high-fidelity engineering simulation accessible to every engineer, designer, and innovator. But the truth is, this mission doesn’t just happen on its own, it’s made possible by the talented, passionate people who bring their best to SimScale every single day.

A few months ago, we started a tradition we’ve come to look forward to during our company meetings: our Employee Spotlights. Every two weeks, we feature a new spotlight in our company meeting, giving the entire team a chance to hear the story firsthand. It has become a small but meaningful ritual, one that sparks conversations, shared laughter, and sometimes even surprise collaborations. In each one, a member of our team shares a bit of their story – how they joined SimScale, what they work on, where in the world they’re based, and even a few personal insights you won’t find in a LinkedIn bio.

A Series That Brings Us Closer

With colleagues spread across multiple continents and time zones, these spotlights have become a way for us to connect more deeply. Sometimes that means discovering how a career has evolved, like a former intern on our frontend team who now works in a completely different area of the company. Other times it is about the personal details that make each story memorable, such as what keeps someone motivated and inspired even after many years at SimScale.

We have heard about proud milestones, tricky challenges overcome, and the small, everyday moments that make working at SimScale rewarding. And while these stories started as a way to connect internally, we realized they are just too good not to share.

What You’ll Find in Each Spotlight

Every story is different, but most touch on:

 • Their journey at SimScale — How they joined and how their role has evolved.
 • Where they’re based — Our offices, remote hubs, and unexpected corners of the world.
 • What they work on — From advancing our simulation platform to supporting customers.
 • How they can help — Areas of expertise they bring to colleagues and users alike.
 • What inspires them — Whether it’s the tech, the mission, or the people.

Why We’re Sharing These Stories

In a company built on innovation, it is easy to focus on technology. But it is the people who bring that technology to life. Every improvement to our platform, every customer success story, and every breakthrough in engineering simulation begins with someone’s creativity, expertise, and dedication.

By sharing these stories, we aim to do more than simply introducing colleagues. We are recognizing the hard work, personal journeys, and unique perspectives that make SimScale stronger. For our team, the spotlights are a moment to pause and appreciate each other’s contributions. They remind us that we are part of something bigger than our individual tasks and that our work is connected through a shared mission.

This tradition gives employees a chance to feel seen, not only for what they work on but also for who they are. In a distributed, global company, that kind of recognition strengthens bonds, builds mutual respect, and helps newer team members feel connected to the company’s history and culture.

It has also become a way for all of us to better understand the variety of roles, skills, and career paths within SimScale. From engineers and product managers to customer success experts and marketers, the spotlights highlight the many different contributions that make the platform what it is today.

Because behind every simulation is a person, and every person has a story worth telling.

What makes a great employee experience from day one? At SimScale, we believe it starts even before the first day. That’s why our onboarding program is more than just a checklist—it’s a thoughtful and structured journey that helps new team members feel welcome, connected, and equipped for success, whether they’re joining remotely or in person.

Creating Meaningful First Impressions

The onboarding process begins even before the first official day. Each new team member receives a welcome package, along with access to the tools, platforms, and resources needed to get started with confidence. But the experience goes beyond logistics, at its heart, it’s about connection and clarity.

🤝 The Buddy Program

Every new hire at SimScale is paired with an onboarding buddy who is usually a peer from outside their immediate team who serves as a friendly point of contact. The buddy helps with informal questions, offers cultural insights, and shares personal experiences about working at SimScale. This relationship provides a layer of personal support that complements formal training.

📅 A Structured Onboarding Plan

SimScale follows a structured onboarding roadmap that spans the first 30 to 90 days, balancing learning, integration, and impact. The experience includes:

Week 1: Orientation

 • Introductions to the company, product, and teams
 • Overview of tools, systems, and security protocols
 • Culture, mission and values sessions
 • Informal meetings with colleagues and stakeholders
 • Daily check-ins with the hiring manager to ensure alignment and offer support

Weeks 2–4: Integration

 • Deep dives into role-specific responsibilities
 • Access to documentation, onboarding tasks, and knowledge bases
 • Shadowing of key meetings and processes
 • Ongoing daily conversations with the manager to address challenges, questions, or progress
 • Ongoing buddy check-ins for peer support

Weeks 5–12: Momentum and Contribution

 • Greater ownership of tasks and projects
 • Regular feedback sessions with the manager
 • Optional cross-functional learning opportunities
 • A review and reflection on the onboarding experience with the People Team
 • An invitation to provide feedback to improve the process for future joiners

Going through the onboarding process has been a great experience. Everybody is open to talk and ready to help, information and knowledge are encouraged to be shared and easy to reach, creating a great environment to work in. Within a couple of weeks it became clear that the values of SimScale as a company truly shine on a daily basis and do not just stay on paper. No wonder why our platform is reaching new heights and I am happy to be now part of the ride.

Renan Pereira Alessio, Customer Support Engineer

🏢 Office Visit Opportunity

SimScale follows a hybrid model that offers the flexibility to work remotely, while also encouraging regular in-person collaboration—either through visits to the Munich office for local team members or quarterly meetups for distributed teams. Whenever possible, new joiners are invited to visit the Munich office as part of their onboarding. This gives teams a chance to meet face-to-face, build rapport, and immerse themselves in SimScale’s culture early on.

A view of Munich city

👥 Daily Manager Check-ins

In the first two weeks, daily check-ins with the hiring manager offer essential touchpoints to clarify priorities, address early questions, and reinforce alignment. These quick, intentional conversations help ensure that every team member feels seen, supported, and able to focus on learning. As onboarding progresses, check-ins become weekly or biweekly depending on the needs of the role.

🌟 Ongoing People Check-ins

In addition to manager check-ins and buddy support, SimScale’s onboarding journey includes several dedicated touchpoints with the People team. At the one-month mark, a conversation with the recruiter helps reflect on how the role is aligning with expectations and offers space for early feedback. This is complemented by a session with our Learning & Development Specialist, focused on identifying growth goals and learning opportunities. As onboarding progresses, team members also connect with our Engagement & Retention Manager to discuss overall experience, engagement, and connection to SimScale’s culture—ensuring support continues well beyond the first few weeks.

A Culture of Belonging and Continuous Growth

SimScale’s remote-first culture emphasizes communication, inclusion, and continuous feedback. From day one, new joiners are encouraged to bring curiosity, ask questions, and take ownership. Whether participating in virtual coffee chats, team ceremonies, or collaborative sessions, everyone is invited into a culture where people are empowered to contribute and grow.

At SimScale, innovation isn’t just confined to our cutting-edge engineering simulation platform—it’s embedded in every aspect of what we do, including our marketing efforts.

Our marketing team plays a pivotal role in connecting the brilliance of our product with the needs of our global customer base. In this blog post, we’re taking you behind the scenes to meet the talented individuals who make up the marketing team at SimScale and learn more about how they contribute to our company’s success.

Who We Are

The marketing team at SimScale is a dynamic and diverse group of professionals, each bringing a unique set of skills and expertise to the table. From content creators and digital marketers to event planners and strategists, our team is united by a shared passion for storytelling, creativity, and data-driven decision-making.

SimScale Marketing Team

Meet the Team

Content Marketing

Content marketing at SimScale is all about telling meaningful stories that connect with our audience. It involves highlighting product benefits and sharing customer success stories. Additionally, creating insightful blog posts, whitepapers, and case studies play a key part. These efforts ensure our messaging is clear, engaging, and aligned with our brand, with a focus on educating and inspiring engineers while showcasing the value SimScale brings to their work.

I love how content at SimScale isn’t just keywords, keywords, keywords. Instead it’s an overarching strategy that serves our amazing customers pre- and post-sales.

Peter Selmeczy, SEO & Content Marketing Manager

Acquisition Marketing

At SimScale, the Acquisition Marketing team plays a key role in driving demand and growing our brand. This team is responsible for both digital marketing and our participation in events and partnerships. On the digital side, they manage our online presence through targeted campaigns across channels like search engines, social media, and email. With expertise in SEO, PPC, and analytics, they ensure we attract the right audience and convert interest into meaningful engagement. They also take care of organizing our presence at industry conferences, webinars, and other key events, while building strategic partnerships that expand our reach and foster valuable connections with customers, prospects, and thought leaders. Together, these efforts power SimScale’s growth and visibility in the market.

It is amazing to see the impact SimScale has on our customers. It is easy to get caught up in everyday work and lose sight of the bigger picture. But, at SimScale, we always take the time to share customer success stories (internally and externally) and, for example, we collaborate with our customers on webinars. I get the chance to see the value SimScale brings to our customers and that is quite exciting.

Victoria Ribeiro, Growth Marketer

Maryam Haghsheno

I really like the impact we have, bringing real value to engineers and pushing the boundaries with new technologies, especially now with AI advancements. But what I enjoy most is being part of a smart, supportive team that always shows up for each other and has something new for me to learn.

Maryam Haghsheno, Acquisition Marketer

Product Marketing

Product marketing at SimScale bridges the gap between our engineering teams and our customers. With a deep understanding of both the product and the market, the emphasis is on crafting clear, compelling messaging that resonates with our audience. It involves driving product launches, conducting competitive analysis, and supporting sales enablement—ensuring the value of SimScale’s platform is effectively communicated at every stage.

The product is constantly growing in capability and breadth of application and we need to communicate this to the market in a way that makes sense to our audience. We want everyone to know how SimScale is different to the status quo in the world of simulation

Alex Graham, Senior Product Marketing Manager
Alex Graham

Growth Product Marketing

Growth product marketing at SimScale focuses on optimizing the user journey from awareness to adoption and beyond. By combining product insights with data-driven experimentation, the goal is to identify opportunities to improve conversion, engagement, and retention across key touchpoints.

Gabriela Falcón

What excites me most about growth product management at SimScale is the detective work – diving into user behavior data to uncover those ‘aha!’ moments where we can remove friction and help engineers get value from our platform faster. Every experiment teaches us something new about our users, and when we see conversion rates improve or engagement spike, we know we’re making a real difference in how engineers experience simulation.

Gabriela Falcón, Growth Product Manager

Design & Creative

Visual storytelling plays a key role in how we communicate at SimScale. Our design and creative work ensures that the brand remains visually strong, consistent, and impactful. From shaping the look and feel of our website and marketing assets to producing multimedia content, this creative focus brings the SimScale brand to life in a way that informs, engages, and inspires.

Management

The marketing team is fortunate to have an outstanding team leader showing the way (a bit of marketing bias, perhaps). When asked to comment for this article, he had the following to say.

You guys don’t need me, you are the amazing marketing team. I’m just the dude who signs the expenses!

Our Approach to Marketing

At SimScale, marketing is about more than just promoting a product; it’s about creating meaningful connections with our audience. We believe in a customer-centric approach, where understanding the needs and challenges of our users is paramount. By leveraging data and insights, we tailor our strategies to meet our audience where they are, delivering value at every touchpoint.

The post Four Years of Measuring Our Carbon Footprint appeared first on SimScale.

]]>
A few years ago, our ESG task force set out to understand the environmental impact of our business. We were very clear on the fact that what is not measured cannot be improved, and therefore one of the key questions that emerged at that time was:

How many tons of carbon do we generate each year?

This question, of course, posed the challenge of not having the relevant information in an organized and accessible way, as well as a lack of experience in how to analyze it once collected.

In 2021, with the help of ClimatePartner, SimScale was able to achieve its goal of measuring its corporate carbon footprint for the first time. With this first milestone achieved, we knew this was just the beginning: we now had to continue measuring ourselves and set reduction and optimization targets, understanding that emissions are an unavoidable part of running a business.

Today, four years after that first milestone, we have measured our corporate carbon footprint for the fourth time, which allows us to better understand our progress, the impact of our decisions, and the areas that still need improvement.

Emission sources CCF 2021 CCF 2022 CCF 2023 CCF 2024
Scope 2 26.83 37.49 33.04 32.18
Purchased heating, steam and cooling for own use 24.24 33.65 28.06 20.89
Purchased electricity for own use 2.59 3.84 4.98 11.29
Scope 3 109.21 268.32 277.8 254.92
Business Travel 26.35 125.64 147.51 146.39
Employee commuting 52.81 83.11 98.7 81.15
Purchased goods and services 16.41 41.28 16.23 14.04
Fuel-and energy-related activities 13.64 18.29 15.36 13.34
Overall results 136.04 305.81 310.84 287.1
Average tonnes per team member 1.41 2.54 2.42 2.24
SimScale’s per employee carbon footprint per team member in the range of 2021 to 2024

The general data clearly shows that our highest consumption falls under the category of business travel, which we are constantly trying to mitigate (for example, through the creation of corporate travel guidelines and recommendations for sustainable travel practices). Fortunately, this category has shown a slowdown in the most recent measurement for the year 2024.

Additionally, when analyzing the carbon footprint per employee, we see that it continues to decrease from its peak in 2022, entering a stable range that allows us to continue introducing optimization measures.

Looking ahead, and with all of this experience, we are working on introducing artificial intelligence innovations to support data collection and processing, contributing to a scalability plan for our corporate footprint evaluation project.

The post Inside SimScale’s DEI Strategy: Pillars of Progress appeared first on SimScale.

]]>
At SimScale, we believe that a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace is key to fostering innovation and collaboration. Over the past few months, our SimDEI Team has been taking a closer look at how we can redefine ourselves to better live up to our DEI values. Through this process, we developed a framework that is built around three core pillars: Strategy, Operations, and Organizational Health. Each of these pillars is designed to drive meaningful change within our company and community. By embedding DEI into our everyday actions, we are actively shaping a culture that values all perspectives and experiences.

Strategy: Shaping and Defining Our DEI Efforts

The Strategy pillar focuses on actively shaping and promoting DEI at SimScale through key initiatives. Our goal is to set up fair hiring practices, expand our network, and improve our public representation. We recognize that our global team experiences differences in culture, background, and challenges. Therefore, we strive to create a welcoming workplace that supports employees and fosters meaningful engagement with diverse customers, users, and the wider community.

To achieve this, we are:

 • Continuously refining and enhancing our hiring vision.
 • Strengthening our partnerships and collaborations with diverse organizations.
 • Enhancing our public representation through diverse speakers, events, and external communications.
 • Encouraging employees to become advocates for change.
 • Holding ourselves accountable by measuring progress, analyzing data, and regularly reviewing our DEI initiatives for continuous improvement.

By maintaining transparency and accountability in our DEI progress, we aim to not only grow internally but also inspire change within our industry.

Operations: Integrating DEI Into Everyday Work

The Operations pillar ensures that DEI is not just an initiative but a fundamental part of how we work. This means embedding diversity, equity, and inclusion into our daily business processes—from hiring and team management to company policies, training, and workplace culture.

Some of our key efforts include:

 • Inclusive hiring practices that ensure fair representation.
 • DEI and broader training for all employees to build awareness and empathy.
 • Regular focus groups and feedback sessions to understand and address the diverse needs and experiences of our team members.
 • Policies that support work-life balance and accessibility for all.
 • A commitment to fostering an inclusive leadership approach.

By weaving DEI into our business operations, we create an environment where all employees feel seen, heard, and valued.

Organizational Health: Fostering Employee Well-Being and Community

At the heart of any successful DEI strategy is the well-being and engagement of employees. The Organizational Health pillar is dedicated to strengthening our sense of community and celebrating the diverse backgrounds that make SimScale unique.

We are taking active steps to:

 • Implement engagement and community-building initiatives.
 • Organize DE&I education and awareness programs.
 • Provide well-being and personal development opportunities.
 • Facilitate community impact and volunteering activities.

By fostering a culture of belonging, we enable our team members to bring their authentic selves to work every day.

What’s Next?

With our DEI strategy and three key pillars in place, we’re excited to turn our vision into action. Over the coming months, there will be new initiatives, ongoing learning opportunities, and various ways for everyone to get involved in shaping a more inclusive workplace at SimScale. Because together, we’re not just improving our workplace—we’re helping to shape a more inclusive future for all.

]]>
At the end of 2021, we embarked on our ESG journey with a clear goal: to give our best so that SimScale continues to grow sustainably—caring for the environment, protecting our team members and the communities where we operate, and conducting business in an ethical, responsible, and transparent manner.

Without a doubt, 2024 was a year full of achievements and milestones, and we’re so happy that we’d like to share them with you!

Environmental

For the third consecutive year, SimScale measured its carbon footprint with ClimatePartner, reaffirming its commitment to understanding the company’s environmental impact. This knowledge will translate into concrete measures that bring us closer to joining global net-zero commitments.

Additionally, we developed our Sustainable Office Program, a series of initiatives and campaigns aimed not only at reducing emissions generated by our daily operations but also at raising awareness (through gamification) about current environmental challenges and how we can contribute to improving the situation.

As part of this, we launched campaigns for cleaning up digitally stored files, organized e-waste recycling events, and created supplier selection guides for office products based on ecological criteria, among others. This program has also been registered under the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 12), and as of the publication of this article, it is in the approval process.

Social

On the social front, we carried out campaigns encouraging more team members to join our volunteering program, helping support their local communities. From teaching new technologies in schools to aiding natural disaster victims and participating in reforestation initiatives, many SimScalers dedicated time to giving back to the world.

We also strengthened our internal recognition program with initiatives like the Reward & Recognition Program, which celebrates the outstanding achievements of our team members throughout the year. Several SimScalers have already received their 2024 awards, and we’re excited for the upcoming 2025 recognitions!

Governance

SimScale’s governance structure was also reinforced throughout 2024. We introduced six new policies into our program while reviewing and improving our existing framework to ensure it remains up-to-date and effective.

Additionally, our team members received training on various governance-related topics, including best practices, mental health, and cybersecurity risks. In total, 210 hours of ESG training have been delivered across the organization.

Finally, 2024 has been a year of enhanced communication, both internally and externally. In addition to publishing blogs that showcase our passion for sustainability and promote best practices, we have introduced quarterly ESG check-ins with team members, providing both retrospective insights and educational discussions.

We have also launched our monthly ESG Newsletter, designed to keep everyone informed about the latest developments in environmental, social, and governance matters.

As we continue this journey, we remain committed to making a lasting impact—within SimScale and beyond!

For those who want to follow our journey, stay tuned for more insights into SimScale’s sustainability efforts and other exciting updates on our @lifeatsimscale Instagram feed. Want to start your own SimScale story? Make sure to keep an eye on our careers page for possible openings!

The post An Oldie but a Goodie – Tips and Tricks for Interviewing appeared first on SimScale.

]]>
Yes, you’ve probably heard it all before—interviewing can be daunting, and every company evaluates candidates differently. However, with layoffs becoming more frequent, you may find yourself navigating the job market once again.

Having recruited extensively and spoken to many candidates, I’ve gathered some insights to help you stand out and improve your chances of landing that next opportunity at SimScale. Here are some tips that may be helpful in your interviewing process.

The Hard Reality About Recruiting

First off, keep in mind that recruiting is a complex and often subjective process. Even if you’re an outstanding candidate, external factors—such as the volume of applications, internal hiring priorities, or even simple timing—can influence the outcome. However, there are some things you can control to make the best possible impression.

View current openings here

Your CV Matters – Make It Work for You

Your resume is often the first touchpoint with a recruiter and, later on, the hiring manager, so it’s essential to make a strong impression. Here are some tips on how to ensure it stands out:

 1. Keep it concise: Aim for one or two pages, focusing on the most relevant experience. Recruiters and hiring managers usually appreciate brevity, so highlight your most impactful skills and accomplishments.
 2. Maintain consistency and honesty: A clear, well-structured work history is essential. Keep it honest and concise—accuracy builds trust and credibility in the long run.
 3. Be transparent about gaps: If you have employment gaps, keep the dates visible and be upfront about them. A brief explanation can prevent misunderstandings and provide clarity.
 4. Provide context about the companies you’ve worked for: Mention the name, industry, and sector of each company you’ve worked at. This helps show the relevance of your experience, especially when transitioning to a new role.
 5. Tailor it to the job: Tailor your CV to the role by highlighting skills and experiences that align with the job description. If the position doesn’t match your strengths, it may not be the right fit.
 6. Make it structured and easy to read: Overloading your resume with text can make it hard to digest. Use short, impactful paragraphs or headings that make it easy for the reader to scan.
 7. Highlight key projects: Instead of using vague terms like “supported projects,” specify the types of projects you’ve worked on and your role in them. This gives a clearer picture of your contributions.
 8. Include your LinkedIn profile: Including your LinkedIn profile adds a personal touch to your application. Ensure it aligns with your CV and reinforces the information you’ve provided.
 9. Last but not least, leverage AI or resume tools: Take advantage of technology to help refine your CV and improve its readability. Resume tools can help spot errors and suggest improvements.

Ace the Interview – Your Time to Shine

Every interview is a chance to highlight your strengths. We want you to feel comfortable and be yourself, so here are a few tips to help you make the most of the conversation:

 1. Show genuine interest: Research our mission and values. Prepare thoughtful questions that show you care about SimScale’s future and how you can contribute.
 2. Communicate your value: Instead of just listing achievements, show how your experience can add value to the company. Share real examples of how you’ve made an impact.
 3. Engage actively: Listen carefully, respond thoughtfully, and approach the interview as a two-way conversation. Don’t hesitate to ask questions—it shows you’re actively engaged.
 4. Tailor your enthusiasm: At SimScale, we’d love to hear why you’re excited about the opportunity and the industry. Share your passion with specific reasons that show what draws you to this role.
 5. Be authentic: Let your personality shine through. Interviewers want to see the real you—don’t try to fit a mold.
 6. Prepare for tough questions: Be honest about any gaps or challenges. Focus on what you’ve learned and how you’ve grown.
 7. Follow up and be personal about it: Sending a personalized follow-up or connecting on LinkedIn is a great way to reinforce your interest and keep the conversation going.

Cover Letters – Worth the Effort?

Many recruiters (including myself) skim cover letters, so my advice is: don’t over-invest time and don’t overthink it. We definitely appreciate a cover letter, but keep it short and impactful—just a few paragraphs are enough. Focus on complementing your CV, not repeating it. Personalize the letter by addressing the role at SimScale, why you might be a good fit, and highlight your strengths without restating your resume.

“I’m Overqualified – Why Won’t You Consider My Application?”

Being told you’re “overqualified” can be frustrating, but it’s often due to concerns about long-term fit, salary expectations, or retention. If you’re truly interested in the role despite being overqualified, here’s how to address these concerns:

 1. Address concerns directly: Acknowledge your experience and explain why it makes you a strong fit for the role.
 2. Show enthusiasm: Highlight your passion for both the position and the company, and explain why you’re excited about the opportunity.
 3. Clarify your intentions: Reassure them of your long-term commitment and your ability to adapt to the role.

Final Thoughts

Job searching is challenging, but by optimizing your CV, approaching interviews with the right mindset, and focusing on what you can control, you’ll improve your chances of success. Learn from every experience, refine your approach, and—most importantly—stay confident in yourself.

Good luck with your interviews, and we hope to hear from you!

As 2024 comes to a close, it’s the perfect time to reflect on everything we’ve accomplished at SimScale, the challenges we’ve overcome, and, most importantly, the people who make it all possible—our team, customers, and partners.

At SimScale, this year has been defined by innovation, collaboration, and growth. From innovative projects to the continued success of our platform, we couldn’t have achieved any of this without our incredible community.

Here’s a look at what we’re grateful for in 2024, including a few thoughts from our team.

1. Our Growing Team

We welcomed more talented new faces to SimScale this year, and together, we continued to foster a culture of innovation and support. Growth isn’t just about numbers—it’s about individuals contributing their unique strengths to help us achieve collective goals. From engineering and product development to sales, marketing, and operations, every team member plays a vital role in driving our mission forward. Seeing diverse perspectives come together to solve challenges and achieve results is always inspiring and rewarding.

“Since joining the company seven months ago as an IT administrator, I have had the privilege of being welcomed into a team that truly feels like a family. From the very first day, I have witnessed a culture of collaboration, support, and shared commitment to a single, overarching goal: to provide our customers with the best possible service.
As a junior member of the team, I have been fortunate to experience immense support from my senior colleagues, especially within the IT department. Their guidance has been invaluable, with corrections made with patience and care when I struggled and words of praise when I reached new milestones. This nurturing environment has allowed me to grow both professionally and personally.
The encouragement I have received has created a solid foundation for me to continue striving for excellence. Knowing that my efforts contribute to the future success and growth of the company motivates me to give my best each day. I’m excited about the path ahead and look forward to contributing even more as our team continues to evolve.”

2. The SimScale Platform Advancing Engineering Simulation

We continued to push the boundaries of cloud-based simulation, helping engineers solve real-world problems faster and more efficiently. This year saw the launch of new features and enhancements that make our platform even more powerful and user-friendly. From improved workflows to expanded simulation capabilities, these updates have enabled engineers to design better, smarter, and more sustainable solutions. We also made strides in improving the user experience, ensuring that both seasoned professionals and new users can unlock the full potential of simulation. The increasing adoption of our platform across industries is a testament to its value in transforming design and engineering processes.

“I have worked here for 6 years now and, during this time, have seen a huge transformation in both our company and our customers. When I joined, we worked with relatively small companies, and now, the sky is the limit! It is wonderful to see us at a stage where we are now a serious player in the game.
This is reflected in the value our customers tell us they find in SimScale; this year, we have learned that some have saved millions in development costs while others are now able to work at speeds that were previously unattainable. It makes me proud to see it. Together, we are actually making a positive difference!
I hope that more leaders ‘see the light’ in 2025 – we’re here when you are ready!”

3. A Thriving Community of Customers and Partners

Our customers continue to inspire us with their dedication and ingenuity. From aerospace to automotive, from architecture to sustainability projects, the breadth of industries that benefit from SimScale reaffirms our mission to make simulation accessible to everyone. Their creativity and problem-solving abilities drive us to continually improve and innovate, ensuring we can meet their evolving needs. We are proud to see our customers using SimScale to accelerate projects, reduce costs, and create designs that shape the future.

“As an account executive, I’m amazed daily by the innovations of the companies I work with. It’s exciting and rewarding to open conversations with industry leaders and introduce them to SimScale. In 2025, I look forward to helping even more customers, whether they’re working on cooling solutions for data centers or optimizing thermal management in the automotive industry. Seeing our customers’ successes reminds me how important it is to make simulation accessible and support innovation across so many industries.”

4. Celebrating Collaboration and Team Spirit

At SimScale, teamwork is at the heart of everything we do. Whether it’s working across departments or with customers globally, collaboration has allowed us to tackle challenges and deliver exceptional results this year. From brainstorming sessions to project milestones, we embrace an open and supportive culture that values diverse perspectives and every voice. This spirit of teamwork not only strengthens our results but also creates an environment where creativity and innovation thrive.

“Working with a diverse team and customers from all over the world has transformed our collaboration. Different perspectives spark innovative solutions, and our openness to ideas fosters trust and connection across distances. By valuing our global contributions, we’ve built strong partnerships and achieved amazing results together.”

5. Commitment to Sustainability and Positive Impact

This year, we’ve seen tremendous progress in supporting sustainable solutions through simulation. Our team and customers have collaborated on projects that reduce environmental impact, optimize energy usage, and contribute to a greener future. From designing energy-efficient buildings to improving the performance of sustainable transportation, the possibilities with simulation are endless.

“As part of SimScale’s ESG team, I’ve seen how we train, incentivize, and implement sustainable practices across the organization—whether in the office or for remote team members. This ensures that wherever we work, we’re contributing to a shared goal of reducing our environmental footprint.
In my role as a Solutions Engineer, I work closely with AEC customers who use SimScale to design for sustainability—whether it’s optimizing buildings for energy efficiency, improving comfort, or developing low-impact HVAC systems. Considering the traditionally high energy use in the AEC industry, it’s inspiring to see our tools drive greener, more efficient solutions and be part of the movement to reduce environmental impact.”

Here’s to an exciting, collaborative, and impactful new year!

At SimScale, the mental health of our team members is a crucial topic. We are committed to protecting the health, safety, and well-being of our team members, and we recognize the importance of identifying and tackling the causes of work-related stress.

So throughout October, the month when World Mental Health Day was celebrated, we assigned training courses on mental health to all our team members in order to reinstate the importance of talking about mental health and highlight the resources that SimScale offers to them.

How Do We Ensure a Healthy Work Environment?

We are fully committed to creating a healthy workspace that prioritizes our team’s mental health built on our core organizational values.

As a result, we have established the following core pillars for our approach to workplace health:

 • Promote a culture of open communication.
 • Take stress and mental well-being into account when planning and allocating workloads.
 • Ensure that risk assessments address work-related stress.
 • Promote a fully flexible working scheme.
 • Implement policies and procedures to address factors that can cause or worsen stress, ensuring a healthy workplace.
 • Provide training to help all team members understand and recognize the causes of work-related stress and mental ill health.
 • Provide support for anyone who is affected by or absent due to stress.

The Role of Our People & Engagement Manager

One of the cornerstones of our mental health management is our colleague Preeti. She is passionate about ensuring that our team members have an optimal work-life balance, enhancing well-being, and directly impacting mental health.

In this way, she coordinates regular meetings with team members in a relaxed and strictly confidential environment. Her warm, open, and objective approach allows team members to have a safe space to talk about issues they may be uncomfortable discussing with supervisors and colleagues.

In her own words:

“It is such a privilege to engage with my team on a one-to-one basis and ask the simple yet profound question, “How are you?” The diverse set of responses, both professional and personal, enables me to offer tailored support to each individual’s unique situation. Supporting my team’s mental health is not just a day-to-day job; it’s a passion, and there is nothing more satisfying than seeing my team progress.”

Let’s Keep the Conversation Going

Talking about mental health isn’t always easy, but it’s essential. Open conversations help reduce the stigma and remind us that mental well-being deserves just as much attention as physical health. By supporting each other, we create a stronger, more resilient work environment where everyone feels they have a safe space to turn to.
