Trying to run a static simulation on a rain gauge i modeled in TinkerCad but unfortunately i run into this error
“The meshing failed due to a self intersection in the mesh on the following entities: edge 2575@Rain Gaugeee, face 2584@Rain Gaugeee. Position: (-58, 52.95, 65.54). Learn more.“
How do i solve this
Hi,
Due to this being a stl file, the geometry surface looks a bit bumpy (probably due to low stl triangulation). I’m not familiar with TinkerCad, but can you export geometries from it in e.g. .step, .sat, .x_t? Stl tends to be the worst option for static studies.
Thank you very much for the input, unfortunately TinkerCad only allows exporting files in STL, OBJ, GLTF, and SVG. And I think all these formats are in a form of mesh
Self intersecting geometry exists in Autodesk Tinkercad model. Overlapping faces or zero-thickness features cause meshing failure. Repair geometry, remove overlaps, thicken thin parts, and re-export before simulation to resolve error.
