Rotating zone

Hello there,

I am using the MRF rotating zone around the four sails of a traditional windmill:

I understand that a rotating zone will include certain physical aspects of such rotating media in that zone. But how does it include the wind profile (ABL in my case) in that calculation (so the incoming windspeed is different for different heights). And also behind the rotating zone; how is the lasting effect of the rotation continuing behind this zone?

Furthermore the rotating zone is around four (static) sails. How is the calculation done (as the sails are static ). So how is this rotating seen in the flow behind the rotating zone? Or is the static position of the CAD-sails still well visible in the flow behind the zone?

II think these are all some basic (for understanding) questions. Can you direct me to some URL where this is somewhat explained.

Thanks for your help.

All the best,

Victor
